You're Invited

Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights are changing. Who makes up the Who's Who of our community? Lifelong residents might not be able to tell you and certainly not those who have only recently moved here. Now some may feel that it doesn't matter, but I disagree. Every community has a social fabric and the tighter it is knit together, the stronger is the community. And the more we know about each other, the less we become strangers and so we all grow closer. So that's the purpose of this blog, to bring us together. And for that, I will be searching out for news, not of the political kind, but of what is going on in our community socially.

Of course I can't be everywhere, nor do I want to be. So I'm going to depend on my readers to keep me informed. If you've got social news - a birth, a party, a trip, a death, a new job, whatever - to report about yourself or someone else, please let me know.

I don't expect to be given nor am I looking for a lot of "dirt." On the other hand, gossip attracts readers so I also won't automatically leave it out. I will not reveal my sources, so if you want to tell me about something that you think the readers may want to know about, feel free. I won't promise that I'll use it, but I may.
